Shelby Rice

Program Coordinator

Shelby was raised in a small town and grew up on a farm, where helping others and the value of hard work was instilled in her at a young age. Shelby obtained her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Dakota, choosing her major as she wanted to help community members when they needed it most. Shelby’s passion for helping others lead her to a career in child welfare and community wellbeing. When the opportunity to become a member of Dreamweaver team became available, Shelby knew it would be the perfect fit. Shelby has a close relationship with her grandparents and has many fond memories her time with them. Shelby looks forward to helping Dreamers and their loved ones create lasting memories!

Shelby lives in Fremont, Nebraska with her dog, Crickett. In her spare time, Shelby enjoys going on walks with Crickett, gardening, and enjoying meals with her friends and family! Shelby serves as Chairman of the Blair Tech campus, previously Dana College, that has been renovated into housing for young adults who were previously in foster care, and she is also a member of the Fremont Foster Care Review Board.
