Anne of Green Gables once said, “I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” Like Anne, Willie appreciates all that October offers and wanted to take advantage of the fall activities. Dreamweaver Foundation was happy to help plan Willie’s perfect October day!
To start her day, Willie chose a new purple outfit and enjoyed her first-ever manicure! With family members joining the fun, Willie and her entourage headed to Preparation Canyon, which is found in the Loess Hills in western Iowa. Opting to take the scenic route, the group experienced a fall must- as they stopped at a local fruit farm, Smalls’ Fruit Farm! While at the fruit farm, Willie treated herself to a delicious homemade apple pie and ice cream paired with a steaming cup of hot coffee with a twist: a dollop of ice cream in the coffee.
Once at Preparation Canyon, Willie and her family made the most of the weather as they enjoyed a perfect October day full of sunshine. With a stunning view from the outlook deck, Willie could enjoy the beautiful fall foliage and the crisp autumn air. To finish the day, Willie had a special dinner request- liver and onions from a local Omaha favorite, Cashio’s. With an off-the-menu request, the team at Cashio’s graciously provided Willie and her family with a wonderful dinner smothered with onions, exactly as Willie had requested. The excellent meal was the cherry on top of Willie’s perfect October day.
