Virginia led a life of serving others. She dedicated over 30 years as a mental health and addiction nurse, while on the side inspiring hundreds of people to be their best selves as a life coach, and in her free time volunteering as a hospice bereavement counselor and planning an annual Christmas party for the less fortunate.

Virginia’s life was halted in 2018 when she was diagnosed with Aplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder that comes about when bone marrow doesn’t create enough new blood cells to make the body work properly. Fatigue, headaches and dizziness make resting and relaxing difficult.

Virginia’s Tabitha Hospice Social Worker wanted to give back to Virginia for her over 30 years of serving the community. Nominating Virginia to fulfill a dream from Dreamweaver Foundation was the perfect way to do just that. Since being diagnosed with Aplastic anemia, Virginia wished for peaceful rest and relaxation. That sparked her dream to have royal treatment!

Virginia and her best friend, Keri, received a weekend of pampering spa treatments at the Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa in Kansas City. They were relaxed from head to toe with facials, pedicures and massages. After a day of pampering, they headed to a five-star dinner at the resort’s Journey Steakhouse. The night ended with Overland Chauffeured Services escorting the ladies on a Christmas light tour through Kansas City. Virginia was just as excited for the tour as she was for the pampering. From the time she was a little girl celebrating Christmas with her grandmother, the joyous holiday always held a special place in her heart.

Just a short time after Virginia returned home, she peacefully passed away at sunrise, her favorite time of the day. It was an honor giving back to Virginia for her life of serving others.

Thank you, Tabitha Hospice, Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa and Overland Chauffeured Services for partnering with us to fulfill Virginia’s dream.
