Teri Chavez

Director of Programs – Connecting Hope

Growing up in Minneapolis, Teri was raised with the value of putting others first. She spent countless hours volunteering with her family at nursing homes and assisted living centers. This played a large part in her eventually deciding to go into human services, so that she could help others to the best of her ability. Teri attended Bellevue University where she earned her undergraduate degree in communications, and eventually went on to graduate with a master’s degree in counseling from Emporia State. She has worked in the nonprofit world in Omaha for the past several years, where she found herself eventually managing a housing stability program. While she loved her work, she felt a strong desire to work one-on-one with others and missed the interactions with clients she used to have. When she saw the opportunity to work at Dreamweaver, she jumped at the chance as it combines two of her biggest passions, building relationships and helping others.

Teri and her husband Armando reside in Omaha. She has three children and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, taking her dogs on long walks, community theater, volunteering, and gardening.
