Ray’s one and only dream was to return home. With such a meaningful dream in mind, AseraCare Hospice reached out to Dreamweaver Foundation to see if we could make his dream come true!
As part of making his way back home, Ray requested having his family by his side and having them all ride together on a bus. With the assistance of Ray’s son, the Dream Team was able to work some magic to make it happen! Ray and his family members all piled into a bus and headed out for their family home.
Arriving in Norfolk, Ray was welcomed back with open arms to his beloved home, where he and his wife had raised their children. Having grown together there as a family for over forty years, the home holds countless memories. And with family members gathered around him, Ray was able to happily reminisce.
After taking a walk down memory lane at his home, it was time to make new memories with his family at Ray’s favorite restaurant, Jerry’s Hilltop! Once at Jerry’s, Ray was joined by more of his family members to participate in the fun! The team at Jerry’s Hilltop provided Ray with exceptional service, pureeing his meal to ensure Ray could enjoy his country-fried steak! While Ray was there, he even decided he couldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a tomato beer!
As he returned to his home and favorite restaurant, Ray’s family noted that Ray’s eyes were wide open the entire day as he soaked up every moment of this experience with his family. Dreamweaver Foundation was honored to assist Ray in returning to his beloved home one last time!
