Millie loves Guy Fieri.  Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is a favorite show, and Millie enjoys Guy’s big personality and zest for life.  Millie’s hospice social worker, Tricia, nominated Millie to receive a Dream, telling us that she would like to have a Guy Fieri experience, in whatever way possible.

We brought a copy of a menu from Guy Fieri’s take-out-only restaurant, Flavortown Kitchen, to our meeting with Millie.  Millie enjoyed perusing the menu and selected a few things that she and her daughter would enjoy for a special lunch on a Friday afternoon.  When we delivered the lunch to Millie and her daughter on that memorable afternoon, we surprised Millie with a special gift—an autographed picture of her cooking crush, Guy Fieri, and her very own “little Guy”, a desktop-size cardboard cutout of his likeness to keep her company in her room at Bethany Lutheran Home.  Millie was tickled pink and felt a little more connected with her favorite “Guy” through the Dream.

Dreamweaver Foundation would like to thank Every Step Hospice for introducing us to Millie through the nomination process, and the staff at Flavortown Kitchen in Omaha for their help in ensuring that Millie’s food was perfectly cooked.
