For months, Mary has been thinking about what her Dream could be.  Mary was nominated by AseraCare Omaha to fulfill a Dream.  When Ashley from Dreamweaver Foundation told Mary her Dream could be anything, she gave her decision very careful consideration.

Mary considered participating in an old pastime at the casinos or a family gathering grubbing on her favorite food, fried chicken.  Then, it came to her.  The weather was changing from Spring to Summer and she wanted to feel the warm air on her cheeks, she wanted to stroll through Lauritzen Gardens.  This part of Omaha is very special to Mary as her family spent much quality time in the city parks, including the original gardens here.

When Mary arrived, she was in awe of the Gardens.  She wondered how she and her guests – her son, daughter-in-law and AseraCare Social Worker – would tour the entire garden!  Then, Dreamweaver Foundation presented her with admission and tram tickets!

The one-hour narrated tram tour traveled across the 100 acre gardens.  Mary was most excited when the tram stopped at the original location of the gardens. . . that’s when memories flooded back from her childhood.

After reminiscing on the tour, Mary enjoyed an egg salad sandwich for lunch while watching the Koi Fish swim effortlessly in the pond.

Before heading back to Crowell Home in Blair, NE, Mary stopped at the gift shop and picked out a beautiful necklace.  This small token would remind her of the day she spent touring the Gardens, warm air on her checks, the beauty of the flowers all around her and memories from her childhood in her heart.

Thank you AseraCare Omaha, Midwest Medical and Lauritzen Gardens for helping us fulfill Mary’s Dream.
