Even at 79 Jerry’s passion for music continues. He grew-up in Oxford, Nebraska with his three sisters and along the way developed a love for singing and playing the guitar.

He currently resides in Waverly at the Waverly Care Center. He enjoys filling his room and halls of the facility playing his guitar and singing good ole country classics from Johnny Cash or Faron Young.

Julie Mapes from AseraCare Hospice nominated Jerry in hopes of fulfilling his Nashville Dreams, Dreamweaver Foundation wanted to make this happen! During coffee hour at Waverly Care Center, we presented Jerry with a new guitar, Johnny Cash songbook and all the accessories needed to play guitar. He immediately had a big smile on this face, shocked the nurses by standing out of his wheelchair to play a song for all the residents and staff.

We want to thank our partners for helping to fulfill Jerry’s Dream, AseraCare Hospice and Waverly Care Center.
