In Gerald’s family, fishing was a “guy” thing. He loves reminiscing about fishing adventures with his dad and eight brothers! His mom and three sisters cooked whatever they caught. Gerald can still taste his mom’s carp dinners.

The last time Gerald went fishing was about 2 years. He remembers the trip vividly because he caught an 18 lb fish that snapped his line! When Tiffany from AseraCare heard about Gerald’s love for fishing, she called Dreamweaver Foundation for a little help getting him on the water again.

Through our partnership with Live Well. Go Fish. Gerald, Nancy, AseraCare aide, Cheri, Dreamweaver Executive Director, and Dixi, future Dreamweaver comfort dog, fished for hours on a handicap accessible pontoon boat. Only taking a break for a couple minutes to enjoy Gerald’s favorite fishing treat: ham, turkey and cheese sandwiches, BBQ Chips and a cold Starbucks Frappuccino. By the end of the trip, they caught 17 fish! Gerald couldn’t believe all the fish they caught in just a few hours!

Thank you Live Well. Go Fish., Midwest Medical, and AseraCare-Omaha for helping us fulfill Gerald’s Dream!
