Ermyl’s mission in life has been to touch as many lives as possible. And, that’s exactly what she has done her whole life! For nearly 20 + years, Ermyl worked in male prisons and drug courts in Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. She dedicated her life to helping the people no one else wanted to help. People that know Ermyl say, “she loves to give.”
When Valerie from Hillcrest met Ermyl and learned about her life of service, she wanted to do something special for her birthday. That is when she contacted Dreamweaver Foundation to nominate Ermyl to receive a Dream.
Often times, Dreams are the unmarked box on a bucket list: a trip to Disney World, a cruise with sisters or overcoming a fear. For Ermyl, her Dream wasn’t about her, it was about everyone else and how many lives she could touch through her Dream.
Dreamweaver Foundation set out to plan a night that allowed Ermyl to do just that! But, we wanted to give Ermyl something that was just for her!
So, she began her day with a limo ride provided by VIP Limo to Novel Hair Salon for a morning of pampering and relaxation.
Thanks to our friends at Von Maur, Ermyl looked beautiful in her navy pantsuit accented with pearl jewelry. Later that afternoon, VIP Limo escorted Ermyl and her husband to Anthony’s Steakhouse.
For years, her family had get-togethers at every holiday –she said, “It has been about 10 years since we’ve all been together.” Ermyl loved watching as all her family and friends poured into the banquet room to celebrate her birthday.
50 people came to see and visit with Ermyl! She said, “It warmed by heart seeing and talking with people I haven’t seen in a long time. It was all wonderful, we had an amazing time. Thank you.”
Dreamweaver would like to thank our community partners: VIP Limo, Von Maur, Novel Hair Salon, Hillcrest Hospice, and Anthony’s Steakhouse for helping us fulfill Ermyl’s Dream.
