Don is a simple man. He loves the Lord and his wife, Judy.
Don began his working career as an architectural engineer in Omaha. His favorite project was working as an Art Draftsman for the Laura Dodge Elementary School construction. Later in life, he switched professions to start working in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he sold spiritual literature and was an evangelist. Don and Judy have survived through tough times in their life, they believe because of their deep faith.
Don and Judy love to travel. They have visited all 50 states, the wonder of Alaska being their favorite! When Don retired, him and Judy moved to Durango, Colorado to be closer to their son Doug and his family. When Don’s health started to change, they decided to move back to Nebraska to be closer to their daughter, Donnette, and their close friends. Don and Judy have a very close group of friends that dates back to their high school. They love spending time at the zoo and eating at the Olive Garden or Valentino’s. When Colleen O’Neill from Hillcrest Hospice was meeting with Judy, she discovered it has been years, since they have all been together due to declining health among some of the friends. Colleen contacted the Dreamweaver Foundation to help get the gang back together!
On a Saturday evening, Judy and Don met eight of their closest friends at their favorite restaurant, Olive Garden! Olive Garden welcomed the friends with a table in a private room and a beautiful flower arrangement. They enjoyed shrimp scampi appetizers, alfredo, parmesan and yummy apple crostata and mousse cake for dessert. Dreamweaver Foundation gifted Don with his favorite Russel Stover Chocolates to remember and enjoy his Dream for days to come.
Judy told us, “Don had a wonderful time. It was so nice to see all of our friends; we had so much fun!”
Dreamweaver Foundation would like to thank our community friends Hillcrest Hospice and Olive Garden for helping us fulfill Don’s Dream!
