“Keep your heart open to dreams. For as long as there’s a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living.” -Anonymous.

Doc has a positive and cheerful outlook on life. He always has a smile on his face and loves interacting with people. Being in the National Guard for 35 years, he continues to be dedicated to traditions and loves watching Nebraska Huskers football games. When Doc was nominated for a Dream, he knew he wished to cheer on the Huskers at a football game. Not only was he mentally prepared for the game, but the Dream Team shopped for him, so he was decked out head-to-toe in Husker gear.

Doc was ready to go bright and early for his Husker Dream. Being accompanied by Sam, a Brookestone Meadows employee, they took the hour-long ride to Memorial Stadium. During the drive, they kept wondering if it was going to rain the entire game as it was forecasted. But as luck would have it, the sun peeked out of the clouds right as the game began. Doc’s family met him at the stadium after he started his Dream with a photo of him and the cheerleaders. The club seats that Husker Athletics donated had the perfect view of the tunnel walk, near concessions, and allowed Doc and his guests shelter when the weather turned at the end of the fourth quarter.

Despite the rain, Doc and his family had a wonderful day cheering the Huskers to a big win! He had such an active Dream that he practically slept through most of the following day, and when he did, he wanted to read the newspaper for all the game highlights. The Dreamweaver team is happy to have played a part in Doc’s Husker football Dream.
