Carolyn has always had a love for shopping. It’s the thrill of looking around and finding a good deal! Goodwill and Salvation Army have always been her go-to spots! Recently, Carolyn moved into Nebraska Skilled Nursing Home and hasn’t been able to go on her shopping adventures. Knowing how much she misses her shopping trips, Allison Social Worker from St. Croix Hospice nominated her to receive a dream from Dreamweaver Foundation.
There was nothing Carolyn wanted more then to go on a shopping trip! Dreamweaver wanted to make Carolyn’s shopping outing extra special. On a snowy March morning, Midwest Medical escorted Carolyn to Westroads Mall for a girl’s day of pampering. Allison, Ashley her aide and Ashley from Dreamweaver joined in on her girl’s day. The first stop was a shopping spree with Evelyn from Von Maur. Evelyn helped Carolyn pick-out several new outfits. The most exciting part of Von Maur was the jewelry selection! Carolyn loves jewelry, especially necklaces. She enjoyed oohing and ahhing over the many cases of bracelets and necklaces, before deciding on a beautiful necklace that matched a ring to replace her misplaced wedding ring.
Her next stop was a nail salon. If she had a new ring to wear, of course her nails needed to be manicured! She picked out a bright pink color! After a morning of shopping and being pampered, she was ready for lunch at Panera before heading home.
Carolyn couldn’t believe what a wonderful day she had! Allison said, she still talks about her dream all the time and how soft and pretty the clothes are!
We want to thank Von Maur, St. Croix and Midwest Medical for partnering with Dreamweaver Foundation to fulfill Carolyn’s Dream.
