Callie Getzschman
Community Outreach Coordinator
Callie was born and raised in Fremont, Nebraska. She attended Hastings College and has lived primarily in the Omaha area since that time. She is a part of a large, blended family and has deep relationships with each of them; however, she would say her grandma is her best friend. Over the last couple of years, their relationship has grown deeper as she became one of her primary caretakers, after a health scare. Her grandma is 92 years old and her favorite thing to do is watch Nebraska Volleyball. Last year, she was able to acquire an autographed t-shirt from several Husker Volleyball players and was able to go to the Creighton/ Nebraska game in Omaha. The joy she received from that simple act changed Callie forever. This is the impact you have on DREAMERS.
Callie has over 15 years’ experience in serving children in the foster care system. For the last three years, she had directly supported volunteers as they selflessly dedicated their lives to advocating for these children. Children in the foster care system are much like our DREAMERS… they yearn for connection and hope.
Callie currently resides in Elkhorn. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on walks with her two fur babies, Tripp and Bruin and serving in the community. Callie currently serves on Foster Care Review Board, is part of West Omaha Chamber, and supports EPIC for Girls.
