For Bonnie her Dream was simple.  She wanted to enjoy her favorite meal with her favorite people.

Bonnie was born and raised in Omaha.  Her father owned a mechanic shop and her mother was a homemaker.  She had six brothers and sisters.  When La Casa Pizza opened in 1953, Bonnie was 12 years old and feel in love with the restaurant.  When Bonnie had her own family, she often took her three children Paul, Nicki and Stefanie out for pizza dinner.

April, Director of Social Services at Florence Home, kept hearing Bonnie ask for a slice of her favorite pizza; hamburger with mushroom, black olives and onions from La Casa Pizziara.  April knew just who to call to get Bonnie a slice of that pizza!

With the help from April and Bonnie’s son, Paul, we arranged for a catered La Casa dinner at Florence Home for Bonnie and 20 of her family members including 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 siblings.  Bonnie was dressed for the occasion in a new outfit from our friends at Von Maur.  When La Casa arrived Bonnie’s eyes lit up!  They enjoyed a great Italian buffet from pizza, fettuccine, chicken wings, arancini rice balls, toasted ravioli, garlic bread and even cheesecake for dessert!  Bonnie devoured several pieces of her favorite pizza.

Bonnie enjoyed her favorite meal while sitting at a table with her favorite company and listening to her favorite singer on the radio, Elvis.  She said, “it was a lovely time”.

We want to thank Florence Home for generously donating space for the dinner, our partner Von Maur for the beautiful outfit and Paul for his help in arranging the Dream.
