Our Dreamer, Bill, who insists that everyone call him “Pops”, is a family man with an entrepreneurial spirit. In 1964 he moved from Arkansas to Omaha in pursuit of better opportunities. Once in Omaha, Bill harnessed his knack for building and fixing things to establish his home remodeling business. Bill has always been a hard worker, and while his work sometimes prevented him from attending his children’s sports and activities, he was always there in spirit and their biggest cheerleader on and off the field. Billis is a man who follows his heart, and over the years he also established a business related to his favorite hobby, pool, by opening a pool hall.
Sunday dinners with family have been a long-standing tradition for Bill and his family. Since his declining health required him to move to Good Shepherd LutheranCommunity in Blair, Nebraska, Bill has missed getting together with family for Sunday dinner. Bill’s daughter, Felicia, helped us bring Sunday dinner toBill by coordinating 25 family members to surprise Bill at his facility for a special lunch in his honor. She also helped us find the perfect photographer to capture Bill’s smile! Hy-Vee provided Bill’s favorite meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw, and mother nature provided the perfect weather for the family to enjoy the sunshine in Good Shepherd Lutheran Community’s beautiful patio room.
Dreamweaver Foundation would like to thank Kindred Hospice for introducing us to Bill through our nomination process and LovelyNaiPhotography for capturing the magic of this special Dream.
