The global pandemic has been a hard time for everyone, and it was especially hard for Angelina to be so far away from her mother, “Mama Bear,” when she needed her most.
While social distancing has become the norm during the pandemic, when “Mama Bear” Angela got sick, the hundreds of miles of physical distance that separated her from her daughter, Angelina, were the hardest obstacle. When Angela’s hospice social worker contacted Dreamweaver Foundation to see if we could help with bringing this daughter to her mother’s bedside, we knew that we had to help.
With Dreamweaver Foundation’s support and with great determination and courage, Angelina loaded up her six-year-old son to make the long journey across state lines to see her mother. The family had a wonderful visit. While there were lots of tears, six-year-old Brandon’s sweet and goofy nature helped to lighten then mood. Being together with her daughter was a dream for Angela. Having Angelina and Brandon there in person to hug and kiss brought her a great sense of comfort and joy. The visit was a dream come true for Angelina too, and she is thankful that she and her son were able to make some wonderful memories with her beloved “Mama Bear.”
Thank you to Amedisys Hospice for helping us connect with this wonderful family.
