Home Instead
Who is Home Instead and briefly what do you do?
Home Instead started in Omaha in 1994 and is now the world’s largest provider of home care. From personal care to Alzheimer’s care to transportation, Home Instead services make life easier for older adults and their families. Our local offices will match compassionate, reliable Care Professionals with each person’s personality and needs. In my role at Home Instead’s global Headquarters, I serve as Gerontologist and Caregiving advocate. I work to educate professionals in aging, families and communities on home care, the unique challenges older adults face and the resources available to help them thrive.

Why is it important for Home Instead to support Dreamweaver?
What ties you to our mission?
As an organization that serves older adults, we love that Dreamweaver is all about creating connections and making dreams come true for the older generations. We also feel it is important to support organizations that serve older adults because there is not enough funding that goes to organizations that focus on the senior population.
“We love that Dreamweaver’s Connecting Hope Program is serving an important and ongoing need”
What is your Bucket List Dream, Lakelyn?
On my bucket list is a long road trip up the east coast, starting in the Carolinas and ending up in Maine!
How has virtual connection played a role for Home Instead employees and those you serve over the last couple of years?
Virtual connection has been a lifeline for so many during the pandemic and continues to be for so many older adults that are isolated and lonely. We love that Dreamweaver’s Connecting Hope Program is serving an important and ongoing need to ensure older adults can keep in touch with loved ones.
